St. Elizabeth, Queen of Hungary (1207-1231), with St. Matilda ( of Magdeburg (1207 – 1294) and St. Bridget OF SWEDEN 1303-1373, THE mother of St. Catherine of Sweden., ALL WISHED to know something of the Passion of Jesus Christ, THEY offered fervent and special prayers to the Sacred Wounds of our Lord upon which Our Lord revealed to them:
All the faithful who shall recite for 3 years, each day,
- 2 Our Fathers,
- 2 Hail Marys and
- 2 Glory Bes
in honour of the drops of Blood I lost, I will grant (concede) the following 5 graces:
- The plenary indulgence and remittance of your sins.
- You will be free from the pains of Purgatory.
- If you should die before completing the said 3 years, for you it will be the same as if you had completed them.
- It will be upon your death the same as if you had shed all your blood for the Holy Faith.
- I will descend from Heaven to take your soul and that of your relatives, until the fourth generation
These graces were blessed by His Holiness Pope Leo XIII (13) in Rome, April 5, 1890. Be aware that any promise that has been given by God reflects God’s generosity, and prayers should inspire us to be more fervent (ardent, warm) in our love for the Holy Wounds of Christ, regardless of any possible rewards God may choose to bestow upon us.
